The usually perfect-faced star apparently takes a beating in his new film Only God Forgives, as evidenced by this just-released poster featuring a swollen, bloody and nearly unrecognizable Gosling.
In the flick he plays an American gangster living in exile in Bangkok with his brother after killing a police officer. The two run a drug smuggling ring with his mom, played by Kristen Scott Thomas, who heads the biz out of Florida until tragedy strikes the family.

Interestingly enough, Only God Forgives is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who also roughed up the Gos in 2011's Drive.
