Ryan Seacrest Joins Today as Special Correspondent for New Two-Year Deal

On the heels of signing on for two more years of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest has reached an additional two-year, mutli-platform agreement with NBC Universal that includes serving as a special correspondent for NBC's Today show and the upcoming Summer 2012 Olympics in London, it was announced Friday.

"Ryan is an extraordinary talent who has been an important part of the Comcast family for a long time," said Steve Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal, in a statement. "We look forward to his continued role on E! and to having him appear on many new places across NBCUniversal, including the Today show and at the Olympics."

Seacrest added, "Joining the Comcast family six years ago was a game-changing experience for me. My time at E! has enriched my career - both in-front-of and behind-the-camera - for which I am forever grateful... Seacrest will also contribute to NBC primetime news and entertainment programming, continue his ongoing role as managing editor of E! News and host of E!'s Live from the Red Carpet. His Ryan Seacrest Productions produces Keeping Up with the Kardashians, its spin-offs and Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.
