Weeds just keeps coming back.

Showtime has renewed the stoner dramedy for an eighth season to premiere sometime next year, the cable network announced Thursday.

Last season, which jumped ahead three years, saw Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) restart her pot-selling business in New York City and reunite with the rest of the Botwin clan (plus Doug) after her stint in federal prison for the murder of Pilar. The season ended on a big cliff-hanger when a mysterious sniper fired a bullet at the Botwin family as they were enjoying a seemingly peaceful family dinner in Connecticut.

The series, which won Parker a Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Comedy in 2006, averaged 720,000 viewers this last season.
