Snooki Launching Slipper Line for Children and Infants

Snooki’s little meatball is going to be sporting some outrageous footwear! The “Jersey Shore” star, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, is expanding her slipper line to include products for kids.

One month after Snooki confirmed she’s expecting her first child with fiancé Jionni LaValle, the company behind Snooki Slippers — Kentucky-based Happy Feet — announced that the reality TV star will be expanding her collection to include infant and children’s slippers. The pint-sized fab footwear will go on sale this fall, which is around the same time she’s expected to give birth.

Snooki’s love of slippers — as seen on her MTV series — landed her the footwear collection in the first place. After wearing some fluffy slippers from the Happy Feet line, sales for the company soared and they reached out to Snooki about doing her own collection. When her line launched in April 2011, Happy Feet owner Pat Yates said that “sales are through the roof,” but it hasn’t all been all smooth sailing. He recently told WWD: “We’re trying to expand our overall retail footing, but her name hasn’t [gained] retail traction yet. [Stores] don’t believe it can appeal to the masses.”

It’s a time of transition for Snooki, who became known for her over-the-top partying lifestyle on “Jersey Shore.” "I have different priorities now," she told Us Weekly following her baby announcement. So her role in “Jersey Shore” — as well as the spin-off she and her best friend Jenni “JWoww” Farley are currently filming in Jersey City — is changing, but it doesn’t mean she won’t still be as entertaining.

"She's pregnant, not dead," Sally Ann Salsano, creator of “Jersey Shore,” told Zap2it. "You can still have a good time. People keep asking me, 'What are you doing to do? How are you going to get around this?' We're not 'Friends' — we can't have [Snooki] hide behind a big purse and pretend it didn't happen. It's a reality show — you follow what happens in their lives." So when “Jersey Shore” films its sixth season this summer, Snooki will still be part of the drama. "This can be like her last hurrah," Salsano added. "Everyone takes that last vacation before the kids. So this is essentially Snooki's last summer at the shore without a baby."
