Comedian Stephen Colbert's sister Elizabeth Colbert-Busch will run for Congress in South Carolina, St. Andrews Patch reports.
Democrat Colbert-Busch will seek to take the longtime-Republican First Congressional District, formerly represented by Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.).
Returning Winter Shows: Where we left off
Colbert-Busch is currently the director of development at Clemson University's Restoration Institute. During the election, she will face off against ex-South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, who resigned after disappearing for five days in Argentina with his mistress.
One thing to note: While the Colbert Report host pronounces his name with a silent "t," Colbert pronounces hers phonetically, a state official told BuzzFeed.
