Funnyman Rob Corddry is spying a starring role in an ABC pilot.
The Children’s Hospital vet has landed the lead in Spy, a half-hour comedy adaptation of Simeon Goulden’s UK satire.
Corddry plays the well-intentioned father of a highly intelligent son who inadvertently joins the Secret Service in order to prove himself a worthy dad.

• Ken Marino’s uproarious Web series Burning Love has found a home on the TV screen. Beginning Feb. 25, the Bachelor-spoofing show will air in half-hour installments on E!. Burning Love‘s second season, meanwhile, bows Feb. 14 on Yahoo! and follows June Diane Raphael’s Season 1 castoff Julie Gristlewhite. Some of her suitors include her real-life hubby Paul Scheer (The League), Jerry O’Connell (Crossing Jordan), Michael Cera (Arrested Development), Adam Brody (The O.C.), Colin Hanks (Dexter) and more.
• Bridesmaids’ Wendi McLendon-Covey has been tapped to recur on Showtime’s new drama Masters of Sex, Deadline reports. She joins the human sexuality-centric series as a formidable female doctor who is a mentor to Lizzy Caplan’s leading lady.

• Arrested Development dad Jeffrey Tambor and rocker Dave Navarro have booked guest spots in an upcoming installment of Law & Order: SVU, per TVGuide.com. Tambor will play an attorney defending a hip-hop star, while Navarro will play a member of the artist’s entourage.
• BBC America has ordered an eight-episode second season of Ripper Street, to bow in 2014.
• TNT and TBS’ tandem coverage of Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards amassed 5.2 million total viewers, with 2.1 million landing in the 18-49 sweet spot (up 5 percent versus 2012). Thus, Turner re-upped to carry the kudoscast for another three years.
