    TVLine Items: XBox Orders Live-Action Halo Series, Rena Sofer to Bold and Beautiful and More

    Gamers, take note: Halo is headed to series TV.

    MSN is adapting the famed video game franchise of the same name into a live-action show exclusively for Xbox Live, with über-director Steven Spielberg tapped to executive-produce, Variety reports.

    The project was announced Tuesday during the launch of the new Xbox One console.

    • Daytime Emmy winner Rena Sofer has joined The Bold and the Beautiful, TV Guide Magazine reports. The General Hospital alumna — who’ll make her debut July 12 — will play Quinn Fuller. Quinn is the mother of Wyatt Fuller, who in turn will be played by fellow B&B newcomer Darin Brooks.

    • Netflix has picked up Ricky Gervais’ British series Derek; the streaming video service plans to launch all seven episodes on Sept. 12.

    • VH1 will air The Gossip Table, a new morning show featuring a panel that includes Chloe Melas from TVLine’s sister site HollywoodLife.com, this summer. The series debuts June 3.
