LONDON – Digital pay-TV operator UKTV has inked a deal to bring the US version of cult British show Being Human to U.K. audiences.
The U.S. show is based on the BBC show of the same name and features three roommates living in Boston who try to live normal lives despite being a ghost, vampire and a werewolf.
The multiple channel operator owned by BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive sealed the deal with program distributor Zodiak Rights to bring the show to the British side of the Atlantic on its flagship entertainment channel Watch.
The third season of the US supernatural show currently airs on cable network Syfy in the U.S.
Watch general manager Steve Hornsey described the show's dark take on an ordinary flat share as a "perfect fit" for the Briitsh channel.
The deal was brokered by UKTV acquisition executives Emma Sparks and Nicki McDermott, alongside Zodiak Rights’ head of sales Anne-Marie Pardoe.
