The second season premiere of Teen Wolf will get a lift from the MTV Movie Awards. MTV will bow the scripted drama Sunday, June 3 at 11 p.m. with part two of the two-hour opener airing the following night at 10 p.m. in its regular Monday timeslot.
The announcement came Thursday at the network’s annual upfront presentation in New York, which included appearances from the casts of Teen Wolf and Awkward and Jersey Shore stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley and Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio as well as performances by Movie Awards headliner fun. and Alicia Keys.
Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki and JWOWW will air in original series’ Thursday timeslot beginning June 21 at 10 p.m. And sophomore series Awkward will get the coveted post-Snooki slot beginning June 28.
Meanwhile, MTV2 series Guy Code – the net’s highest rated series ever – returns in July.
MTV also rolled out clips for upcoming series including: Inbetweeners, based on the British series; Underemployed, a single camera comedy about five post-college friends in Chicago from Dirty Sexy Money creator Craig Wright; Wake Brothers, a reality series about wakeboard champs and brothers Phil and Bob Soven; scripted comedy Zach Stone is Gonna be Famous; and docuseries Catfish, which uses the same premise – a Facebook romance – as the 2009 movie that generated controversy and heated media debate about its authenticity.
And MTV also will roll out a robust social media strategy around Teen Wolf with a “storytelling without borders” initiative that allows fans to interact with the show’s characters within the context of a choose-your-adventure mystery. Teen Wolf: The Hunt will feature an original storyline from the Teen Wolf writers and will launch June 4.
