'Big Brother': Adieu Times Two
Double eviction! If they keep this speed up, we could all be done with this by Sunday. Then we can get on to spending our time on more highbrow cultural events, like watching Death Race. But in the meantime, let's revisit the week (and sorry we're up late today; once again, New York bumped Big Brother for a preseason football game): When we left BBlast Thursday, the houseguests were being repeatedly slammed into a wall — which is a lot like a recurring dream I have, from more » -
Obama's speech seen by 38 million viewers
Barack Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention was seen by more than 38 million people. Nielsen Media Research said more people watched Obama speak than watched the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, the final " American Idol " or the Academy Awards this year. Obama talked before a live audience of 80,000 people in Denver. His TV audience nearly doubled the amount of people who watched John Kerry accept the Democratic nomination to run against President more » -
Every little bit Phelps: Swimmer a VMA presenter
He does comedy, writes books, and mixes it up with the hottest stars in music and Hollywood. With all this, who needs swimming? Certainly not Michael Phelps -- not anymore, at least. But as a presenter at the 2008 Video Music Awards, all that fresh Olympic bling will certainly help. The swimmer who took home a record-breaking eight gold medals from the Beijing Games joins Miley Cyrus , Scarlett Johansson , Lindsay Lohan and Ciara as presenters at the Sept. 7 VMAs telecast from more » -
Lindsay Loses Grandfather, Calls for Family Peace
Lindsay Lohan is hoping a tragedy will bring her family together. Richard Lohan, Lindsay's paternal grandfather, died Thursday after a battle with colon cancer, which, according to Michael Lohan, has prompted a truce in the battle between father and daughter that escalated this week. "I was holding him, laying in bed with him, when he died," Michael Lohan tells E! News. "Lindsay did reach out to me. She sent me a message this morning. She said, 'Now papa has found peace more » -
Cheers & Jeers - Reader's Jeer of the Week: Product Placement Stinks!
Posted by jonath... Jeer to Eureka, one of my favorite shows, for indulging in product placement. This season, the producers apparently came to an agreement with the makers of Degree deodorant to display their logo at every opportunity. Not only is it disappointing, but it is annoying, and distracting to deal with in an otherwise quality show. Share your own raves and rants about other shows on the Reader Cheers & Jeers discussion board. We may feature your Cheer or Jeer on TVGuide.com more »

Oprah's Lashes Malfunction; Just Blame Obama
Talk about an endorsement. Oprah Winfrey was such a fan of Barack Obama's acceptance speech in Denver Thursday night, she claims to have "cried [her] eyelashes off." No easy feat. "I've never experienced anything like this," she continued. "I think that what he had to offer the country tonight will make us all better." Also caught up in the moment was Kanye West , who said, "It changed my life." Poor Obama. After being compared to Paris and Britney, the politician may more » -

Lindsay Lohan lashes out at father on blog
Lindsay Lohan had words for her father on her blog. The 22-year-old actress lashed out at father Michael by calling him a "public embarrassment" and a "bully" in a MySpace blog entry posted Thursday. Earlier in the week, Michael said in an interview with E! that Lohan gal pal Samantha Ronson was "using" his daughter. Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, confirmed the post by Lohan was legitimate. "If you have something to say to me, say it to my face -- that's what more » -
Stars over the moon about Obama's speech
First word on Barack Obama's historic nomination acceptance speech from a bevy of celebrities in attendance was decidedly partisan: "It was excellent," Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie said. "It was amazing." "Incredible," said Jessica Alba simply, before joining Fergie, Rosario Dawson , Wilmer Valderrama and Kerry Washington at a private exit from Invesco Field. Alba was at the speech with husband Cash Warren. Other celebrities in attendance included George Lucas with girlfriend more »
