VH1 Cancels Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson's Reality Show Following Domestic Violence Charge

VH1 is pulling the plug on Ev & Ocho.

The reality show would have chronicled Chad Johnson's marriage to Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada -- but after the Miami Dolphins player's misdemeanor domestic violence charge on Saturday, the network is taking it off its fall lineup, most likely indefinitely.

"Due to the unfortunate events over the past weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev & Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," a network spokesperson tells Us Weekly.

Johnson (formerly known as Chad Ochocinco) was arrested Saturday after his wife of just five weeks accused him of head-butting her, which resulted in a cut on her forehead.

The Associated Press reported that the incident took place after Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms in her NFL star husband's car. The couple allegedly got into an argument during dinner, with emotions escalating on the drive home.

On Sunday, the 10th season Dancing With the Stars contestant, 34, posted the $2,500 bail and was released from police custody; later that day, Johnson learned his contract with the Dolphins had been terminated.
