    VH1 drops 'Ev and Ocho' after Chad Johnson's arrest

    VH1 has canceled upcoming reality series Ev and Ocho following the arrest and subsequent release by the Miami Dolphins of Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson.

    "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network said in a statement.

    The unscripted series was scheduled to premiere Sept. 3 and follow Johnson and his new wife, Evelyn Lozada.

    Johnson was arrested Saturday on domestic violence charges after he allegedly head-butted his the Basketball Wives star during an argument at their Florida residence.

    A day later, the wide receiver was cut from the NFL's Miami Dolphins, shutting him out of Showtime's upcoming docuseries Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the Miami Dolphins.

    Former Dancing With the Stars contestant Johnson married Lozada in July, live-tweeting their wedding which was filmed for VH1.
