The upcoming season of American Idol has just begun filming and already the new judges are at odds.

The argument, which apparently stemmed from a disagreement over a performance, took place during auditions in North Carolina on Tuesday.

Rumors of a feud between the two singers have been circling since they were announced as judges on the Fox competition show. "It's music, it's singing, it's laughter," Carey said at a press conference last month. Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe added, "It's not about them. They know that. It's about the kids that come out there."
