Jane Fonda was raised Hollywood royalty. Her father Henry Fonda was the king of the stage and big screen in his time. Nonetheless, she's spent the major part of her past 74 years making a mark for herself. Yes, the septuagenarian puts today's celebutantes to shame. Besides being an acclaimed actress, the activist and author has served as a teacher on living the best life possible.
The storied performer has been a favorite guest on ABC's "The View." This week, however, Madame Fonda was the subject of discussion at the "Hot Topics" table. Jane has been outspoken in the past about her opinions on war and her tips on fitness. Now, Ted Turner's ex wife is talking sex -- again. We say again because Jane's 2011 memoir, "Prime Time: Love, Health, Sex, Fitness, Friendship, Spirit-making," included her sexy life tips, as well.
Jane has been married three times, so the lovely lady knows a thing or two about men. The former fashion model is currently dating 70-year-old music producer, Richard Perry. The subject of discussion on "The View" was Jane's recent confession to a British paper that she is having the best sex of her life. For fans who are worried about aging, this is excellent news.
Detractors might ask, how can it be that a postmenopausal woman is having better sex than ever? Fonda met Perry during a very un-sexy healing period after she had her knee replaced. In fact, when Jane moved in with her man, she was still using crutches. Jane brazenly refers to Richard in the interview as her "lover." Now there's a word that we need to bring back!
Sherri Shepherd suggested that perhaps being vulnerable after knee surgery left Jane more emotionally available. Of course, Joy Behar had her share of wisecracks about the subject. Whoopi Goldberg pulled one the smoothest transition ever when the next topic up was "karezza," having sex without orgasm.
Jane Fonda continues to brazenly blaze a new trail with her openness. We wish her a fantastic new life with her new lover. Of the affair to remember Jane says, "The only thing I have never known is true intimacy with a man. I absolutely wanted to discover that before dying. It has happened with Richard, I feel totally secure with him. Often, when we make love, I see him as he was 30 years ago." Indeed!
Just another lovely day around our favorite TV coffee clutch.
