'The Voice' Recap: The Top 8 Announced

For the second week, America’s votes determined who would stay and who would go home on The Voice. All 10 of the remaining contestants performed on Monday’s show, and awaited the results on Tuesday night.

STORY: 'The Voice's' Christina Aguilera on Live Show Cuts and Why She Doesn't Read What's Written About Her

Christina Aguilera and her team perform Aguilera’s “Let There Be Love,” another song of Lotus. The promotion for her new album is getting on this show is pretty unbelievable. Shall we start a tally of how many Lotus songs make it onto the show this season?

The saved contestants are as follows (in chronological order):

    Nicholas David (Team Cee Lo)
    Cassadee Pope (Team Blake)
    Dez Duron (Team Christina)
    Cody Belew (Team Cee Lo)
    Melanie Martinez (Team Adam)
    Terry McDermott (Team Blake)
    Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo)
    Amanda Brown (Team Adam)

STORY: 'The Voice' Coach Adam Levine Defends Christina Aguilera Against Critics: 'Grow Up'

Team Christina’s Sylvia Yacoub and Team Adam’s Bryan Keith are sent home. And how about that totally awkward moment when host Carson Daly went to ask Yacoub a question before the elimination was announced, and she thought he was saying that she was safe? Painful to watch.

This elimination leaves Aguilera with only one member left, the handsome Duron. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have two contestants each, and Cee Lo Green is sitting pretty with all three contestants still in the show.

Do you think the right contestants were sent home? Weigh in below.
