'Walking Dead' Casts 'The Wire' Vet as Tyreese

"The Walking Dead" has found its Tyreese.

Chad Coleman, who played Dennis "Cutty" Wise on HBO's David Simon drama "The Wire," will play Tyreese, a fan favorite from the comic-book series that spawned the show, an individual with knowledge of the casting told TheWrap.

In the comics, Tyreese, a prominent survivor of the undead apocalypse, serves as Rick's right-hand man following the death of Shane. The individual was not able to confirm the date of Coleman's debut on the series, but TVOvermind, which first reported the casting, says that he will show up on the hit zombie series by the end of the current third season.
