Hulu is gearing up for battle. The online TV service launches its first original scripted series, Battleground, on Tuesday, February 14, and will continue to roll out new episodes every Tuesday over the next several weeks. The show, created by JD Walsh, takes a comedic faux documentary-style look at a group of campaign workers in the battleground state of Wisconsin. Jay Hayden stars as Chris "Tak" Davis, the manager of a distant third-place Senate candidate, while Ben Samuel, Teri Reeves and Alison Haislip also star. Hulu has produced 13 episodes of the 22-minute comedy, which also comes from executive producers Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spiderman) and Hagai Shaham. Walsh and Webb answered TV Guide Magazine's showrunner survey in the hopes of earning your viewership vote.

TV Guide Magazine: Give us an algorithm for your show.

Battleground is Deal or No Deal minus the suitcases, models and Howie Mandel. It's riveting.

Walsh:
We didn't correct them.

TV Guide Magazine: What's the worst thing that anyone has said?

Walsh:
That guy was a jerk.

TV Guide Magazine: Who was right?
Walsh:
My wife, she's always right. I should stop wearing cargo shorts.

TV Guide Magazine: How are you using your power of TV for good?
Webb:
I'm not. You?
Walsh:
Nope.

TV Guide Magazine: What's an alternate title for your show?
Walsh:
Lillyhammer.

TV Guide Magazine: Tell us an idea that didn't make it out of the writers' room.

TV Guide Magazine: What's funnier: Battleground or the presidential primaries?
Walsh:
I liked the script for the primary, but the casting was terrible.
Webb:
The guy they got for Rick Perry was great.
Walsh:
He was a little over the top for me.

TV Guide Magazine: Summon your inner campaign attack strategy and say something nasty about a competing show.
Webb:
You know that the contestants on Wipeout are hostages trying to escape, right?

TV Guide Magazine: Which one of your cast members should actually run for political office and why?
Webb:
Did you hear what we said? The producers are TORTURING those contestants for our amusement!
Walsh:
They're just trying to get back to their families.
Webb:
It's horrific.
