'White Collar' Star Matt Bomer Comes Out

Matt Bomer has gone public with his personal life.

The "White Collar" star spoke out about his partner and family this weekend at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, where he was honored with the New Generation Arts and Activism Award for his work with HIV/AIDS.

"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," he said referring to his publicist partner Simon Halls and their three children.

"Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment," he continued in his speech at the event in Palm Springs, Calif.

LGBT blog TowleRoad referred to how the actor handled questions about his personal life in the past as living in a "glass closet," meaning most people in Hollywood were aware of his sexuality, although Bomer would never publicly address it.

The 34-year-old had previously skirted questions about his personal life, telling Details in 2010, "I don't care about that at all... I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life."

The actor will next be seen on the big screen with Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey in the upcoming male stripper movie, "Magic Mike."

  And how far does your caring extent - what about polygamy, etc. I like where the line used to be. How far are you going to move it? To me it’s still a perversion! I just don’t see the attraction! I’d rather have a woman over some man #$%$ any day. Think about it people. An open mind is nice, but you still have to be cautious of what you allow in.

  Irene, I can see the effects of wind, without thinking about where is started, I can see daylight without thinking about chemical reaction in the sun that creates it. Braennvin is saying that this guy fits some of the traits of the "stereotype" and does so well enough that it can be seen without being thought about.
