As the season finale approaches, a whirlwind of activity is going on in the bedrooms of Wisteria Lane. Just in time for Valentine's Day, the women of Wisteria Lane learn once again that love and romance don't necessarily go hand in hand.
Bree (Marcia Cross) spirals out of control as she drinks and dives her way into and out of one bed after another. Just when you think no one can save her, expect Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) to ride to the rescue. He has been through a number of ups and downs with Bree including raising her grandchild as their own and a stint in prison. They thought they would be together forever -- is his return maybe what the future may hold for Bree as "Desperate Housewives" closes out the final season?
Susan (Teri Hatcher) is managing to keep her man by her side as Mike (James Denton) protects her from being busted for covering up a murder and fights to keep her on Wisteria Lane. Susan experienced a severe flight or fight response to the investigation into Alejandro's murder and disappearance and just when she is getting on back on track with life and love, her daughter Julie (Andrea Bowen) reveals that Susan may have an elementary school aged son, but she really is old enough to be a grandmother. Little Julie is all grown up now and expecting a baby of her own. How will Susan respond to joining Bree in being a grandmother? The baby daddy hasn't been revealed yet, so we have at least one more mystery to solve before the season finale.
Things may not have always been a bed of roses for Lynette (Felicity Huffmand) and on-screen husband Tom Scavo (Doug Savant) but there is one place that they were always compatible and that was the bedroom. As a single gal, so far Lynette has had one close encounter of the most embarrassing kind and soon she will experience a less than thrilling sexual encounter. Either Tom is really, really good or this date ended really, really, badly. I wonder what Renee (Vanessa Williams) would have to say?
What would Valentine's Day be without cute cards and candy exchanged at school? But one "Desperate Housewives'" daughter finds out that Valentine's Day is not all hearts and flowers. Now Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) must try to explain to Juanita (Madison De La Garza) why the boy in school that she likes doesn't like her and didn't give her a card. This should be interesting, because Gaby has probably never had a man not respond to her own particular brand of charm and appeal.
With all the twists and turns of their love lives, there is one story that "Desperate Housewives" is going to handle straight on. Art will imitate real life, as the beloved grandmother, Mrs. McClusky (Kathryn Joosten), of Wisteria Lane reveals that the doctor found a spot on her lung. Joosten is a two-time survivor of lung cancer and is excited about being able to involve the show in bringing lung cancer awareness to the fans. Watch for the story to play out of the last few episodes, but it has been rumored that "all's well that ends well" for Mrs. McClusky as she and boyfriend Roy (Orson Bean) elope and get married.
So whether you are young or old, "Desperate Housewives" will be sharing a whole lot of love stories as it closes out season eight. Which "matches" do you want to see "made in heaven" as the last show airs?
