If you were a fan of the CBS daytime drama "The Young and the Restless" back in April 2007, you were likely as shocked about watching Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) fall to her death as everyone else. Her death was brought on by a cat fight of sorts between Drucilla and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) that took place at a cliffside photo shoot. Drucilla lunged at Phyllis but Phyllis quickly moved out of the way. This sent Drucilla careening over the edge of the cliff.
This sure was an emotional time for the show, as Victoria Rowell had been a part of "The Young and the Restless" family for 17 years at the time of Dru's death. Yet if you were paying attention closely back then, you no doubt noticed that Dru's body never was recovered. The story went that her body must have gotten washed away, but without a body, there has always been a possibility that she may just come back to Genoa City one day.
Keep in mind that when Nick (Joshua Morrow) was in a plane crash a few years ago, he actually survived with the assistance of a woman. He did have amnesia, though, so it took him a while to return home. Rumors have been circulating for several years now that Rowell will return to "The Young and the Restless" and reprise her role of Dru. Is she coming back, though? Rumors attest to the fact that CBS has reached out to her to return, and she apparently was interested in returning. However, she has not yet shot any scenes, so you can expect that she won't be returning any time soon.
It is interesting to note that spoilers for the next month or two indicate that a mystery woman is coming to Genoa City, and she has ties to Neil (Kristoff St. John), Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) and Sofia (Julia Pace). While Sofia clearly came to Genoa City long after Dru "died," Dru has indeed been living somewhere else all of this time (if she is alive), and so these two women may have developed ties that fans are not yet aware of. So could this mystery woman be Dru?
At this point, Sharon (Sharon Case) sure could use a good girl friend, and she and Dru were besties. Phyllis, however, is having enough trouble dealing with her sister being in town, so Dru's return would be icing on the cake at this point.
