Newton Sigel

As a renowned cinematographer and television director, Newton Thomas Sigel brought his bold photographic style to “Superman Returns” (2006), continuing his long-time working relationship with director Bryan Singer.

Born in 1961, Sigel’s training was initially in art. He began a career as a painter, culminating with an artist-in-residency at the Whitney Museum in New York. During that time, he began experimenting with short films and focusing on cinematography.
