In the Crane industries building, Jared leaves his resignation on Theresa's desk. Gwen
comes looking for Ethan. Ethan walks in as she asks Jared to stay in Harmony. On the
waterfront, Theresa runs into a fortune teller who reminds her of an earlier prediction that
came true and encourages her to have her cards read. In her kitchen, Tabitha makes
appetizers and talks with Endora. She tells her that she thinks Charity is back. Tabitha
speculates on all the trouble that Charity's return will cause. Kay tries to tell Fox that she
wants to break up with him, but Fox put her off and hopes that seeing Charity will ruin
Kay's relationship to Miguel. Outside, Charity is also hopeful. She wants to be welcomed
by Miguel and Kay.
Tabitha drinks champagne and tries to think of ways to keep Miguel and Charity apart,
because their union will cause untold havoc on Tabitha and Endora. Tabitha convinces
herself that Charity is not back, that she imagined seeing her. In the backyard Charity
waits for Fox to bring out Kay and Miguel. Miguel is also there but does not notice her
because his back is turned. Paloma arrives and decides to talk to Noah. Kay rushes to
catch up to Fox who wants to keep her from calling off the wedding. Kay catches him, but
Fox keeps interrupting her so that she cannot tell him that she loves Miguel. Just as Kay is
about to tell him, Jessica rushes up and slaps her. Kay does not deserve happiness snarls
Jessica, who is still enraged because Kay kept Ivy's secret and allowed her mother and
father to believe Ivy's lie and break up because of it.
Ethan is upset with Gwen because she wants to stop Jared from leaving. Ethan tells Gwen
that she must stay out of Theresa's business if she expects Theresa to stay our of Gwen
and Ethan's business. The fortuneteller says to Theresa that her heart is broken. The cards
say that Theresa's true love will not leave his wife. The seer offers to tell Theresa the
future. Theresa asks if the cards can tell if she and Ethan are over for good. Theresa wants
to know if there will ever be a happy ending for her and Ethan.
Miguel and Charity still do not see each other in the back yard. Jessica blames all her
troubles on Kay. She says she would not be a whore married to her pimp if Kay had not
driven her mother away. Kay tries to apologize, but Jessica continues to vent on Kay.
Paloma and Noah arrive. They try to comfort Jessica and take her inside. Fox tells Kay he
will be there for her. Miguel arrives and wants to know what is going on. Jared tells Gwen
it is time to move on, even though Gwen tries to convince him otherwise. She leaves to
talk to the nanny. Ethan tells Jared that he is surprised that he is leaving. He insinuates
that Jared is only resigning to get Theresa to chase after him. Jared tells him he is also
surprised because Ethan is such an idiot. He tells Ethan that only an idiot would leave
Theresa. The fortuneteller is amazed by what she sees. She smiles and tells Theresa that
she will be surprised and that she is going to get the best news that she has ever hoped
for.
Kay tells Miguel that she is upset because of what Jessica has said. Fox wonders privately
why Miguel has not seen Charity. Fox leaves to look for Charity. Kay tells Fox that she still
needs to talk to him. She tells Miguel that Jessica's fury prevented her from telling Fox that
the wedding is off. Ethan refuses to discuss Theresa with Jared. Ethan is married he says.
Ethan says that Theresa is well intentioned, unlike Jared, he snarls. Jared says that Ethan is
a hypocrite. Let Theresa go says Jared. Give her a chance to be happy. The fortuneteller
says that there is no chance for Theresa and Ethan. How is that good news, Theresa
wonders. "Fate is keeping you from making a mistake that will ruin your life," says the
fortuneteller.
Noah and Paloma discuss Jessica. It is bigger than Kay's betrayal both agree. Paloma tells
about her problems with her own mom. She tells Noah that she had hoped that her
experiences would help Jessica. Paloma and Noah grow closer. Tabitha and Endora work
on the appetizers and speculate about the fiasco that Kay's bridal shower will become.
Tabitha thinks back to last year's Thanksgiving and remembers all the commotion that
Endora caused. She decides to keep Endora from realizing that Thanksgiving is soon.
Paloma and Noah talk about the importance of family. Noah says that he wants them to be
friends. He leaves to check on Jessica. Paloma hopes that they will be more than friends.
Kay and Miguel discuss their relationship. Miguel wants her to tell Fox the truth before
more people are hurt. Kay agrees to tell Fox the truth. Fox finds Charity and wants to
know why Charity has not shown herself. She has not seen either Kay or Miguel she says.
Fox takes her with him. Tabitha drinks and spouts off about mortals. She looks around
and sees a Thanksgiving poster and realizes that Endora know that Thanksgiving is near.
Jared tells Ethan that he is a selfish bastard who will not let go. Ethan says that Jared does
not know what he is talking about. Gwen returns. Neither man tells her what they have
been saying to each other. Jared excuses himself. He has a lot to do before he leaves.
Gwen wants to know what has been said. Ethan tells her that he just let Jared know what
he though of him. Gwen says that it is because of Theresa that Ethan does not like Jared.
They agree to go to Kay's shower. Ethan is going to see his dad first. They separate. Gwen
leaves first. Ethan looks at Jared's resignation letter and gloats. He is sure that Jared is
wrong for Theresa and that they are all better off without him. Theresa says that the cards
must be wrong. She has loved Ethan for years. The fortuneteller disagrees. Ethan may be
the love of her life, but he is not the right man for Theresa because a life with Ethan would
be filled with pain, sorrow and heartache. There is another man in her life that is much
better for her in the long run. Theresa says that Jared is no longer interested. Yes he is
says the fortuneteller. He is a man of ethics and principle. He has backed away because
that is what Theresa wanted. This man just wants Theresa to be happy. Act quickly or lose
Jared, she continues. "He is your future. Win him back or lose your last chance at
happiness," purrs the fortuneteller.
