In 1974, Lipton married producer/musician Quincy Jones and took a hiatus from acting to raise a family. In the late 1980s, after her divorce from Jones, she resurfaced on the big screen as a TV reporter in "War Party" (1988) and went on to play diner owner Norma Jennings on the oddball serial "Twin Peaks" (ABC, 1990-91), a role she reprised in the feature "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" (1992).
