WORST: Keith Hernandez, "Seinfeld"

Calm down, "Seinfeld" fans: We're not arguing that "The Boyfriend," the two-part 1992 episode that featured the Mets first baseman as Jerry's new friend, is anything short of magnificent. Calm down, "Seinfeld" fans: We're not arguing that "The Boyfriend," the two-part 1992 episode that featured the Mets first baseman as Jerry's new friend, is anything short of magnificent. However, Hernandez's monotone performance was the equivalent of a bases-loaded walk: Sure, he drove in a run, but everybody else did all the work. (We do have to thank him for introducing "I'm Keith Hernandez" into the national lexicon, though.) After an admirable 14-season career in the bigs, Hernandez now works as a Mets broadcaster ... which should give him a good vantage point if any "magic loogies" come flying out of the stands. less
