Fall TV Shows in Trouble

“Animal Practice” (NBC)

The fact that its supporting cast prominently features a monkey should’ve been our first hint. This shaggy-dog comedy, starring Justin Kirk as a surly veterinarian, got a nice sampling with a post-Olympics sneak preview. But those viewers apparently weren’t too thrilled with what they saw, because only 5.2 million of them tuned into this week’s new episode.
