When writer/actor Kevin di Cicco found a stray dog while hiking near his cabin in Yosemite National Park, no one would have imagined it would become a major TV star. But 1-year-old Buddy soon won the part of the Tanners’ dog, Comet, on "Full House."

When writer/actor Kevin di Cicco found a stray dog while hiking near his cabin in Yosemite National Park, no one would have imagined it would become a major TV star. But 1-year-old Buddy soon won the part of the Tanners’ dog, Comet, on "Full House."

Buddy played Comet from 1989 to 1995, but that wasn't his only role. He actually starred as the title character in the movie "Air Bud" in 1997. The golden retriever even scored a Kids' Choice Awards nomination for Favorite Animal Star for his part in the original film, but he lost to Salem the cat from "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch."

Sadly, Buddy passed away in 1998 after battling cancer. He was about 9 years old. less
