more Marla Sokoloff (Gia Mahan)Marla Sokoloff was just 12 years old when she made her first appearance on "Full House," and her only prior job was an uncredited part in Mike Myers' "So I Married an Axe Murderer." She was on "Full House" for only eight episodes, but she made an impact as Stephanie's nemesis turned BFF Gia Mahan. Just six months after her final appearance on the show, Sokoloff landed another high-profile role, playing bad girl Jody Lynch on seven episodes of "Party of Five."
In 1998, Sokoloff moved on to more adult parts, taking on the role of Lucy Hatcher on "The Practice." But after her fifth season, she was one of several lead actors whose contracts weren't picked up for budgetary reasons.
In 2006, Sokoloff briefly became the perpetual bride-to-be on the sitcom "Big Day." The show lasted only 13 episodes, but she followed it up with appearances on the series "Desperate Housewives," "Drop Dead Diva," and "CSI: NY." Beyond television, Sokoloff has kept busy in many ways. A lifelong music lover, she had a band called Smittin before going solo and releasing the CD "Grateful" in 2006.
She's also been focused on her family. In 2009, Sokoloff married composer Alec Puro. In February of this year, she delivered their first baby, Elliotte Anne Puro. The joys of motherhood were, unfortunately, mixed with the stress of having a baby with a rare condition called congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM). Baby Elliotte is doing well.
