more Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Michelle Tanner)When they were just babies, fraternal twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made their TV debut as Michelle Tanner on the premiere episode of "Full House." They would spend the next eight seasons in front of the cameras, alternating their time onscreen to create the singular role in order for production to stay within the strict boundaries of the child labor laws. The sisters grew up on the show, which wrapped production when they were just 8 years old.
Although their follow-up series, "Two of a Kind" and "So Little Time," each lasted only one season, the Olsen twins had already built their own industry. They launched their company Dualstar, branding products including fragrances, cosmetics, clothing, dolls, books, and magazines. Not surprisingly, as a result, they made their first appearance on Forbes' "The Celebrity 100" list in 2002, generating $1 billion in annual sales when they were just 16 years old. Ashley hasn't acted since her last film with Mary-Kate: the box-office flop "New York Minute." And Mary-Kate has made only limited forays into entertainment, most prominently in an eight-episode story arc on "Weeds."
While they have all but abandoned their acting careers, the twins are still incredibly busy and successful in the fashion world. In June of this year, they were honored with the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award at the Council of Fashion Designers of America ceremony.
