Gabe admits the experience has been a little weird for him since he's never actually worked with a professional vocal coach prior to being on the show. The trio goes through the process of cutting his two songs -- "Celebrity" by Brad Paisley and "Gone Country" by Alan Jackson -- shorter due to time constraints, aiming to make sure the truncated songs still make sense to the audience. David seriously suggests that Gabe add a "Yee-haw!" at the end of one of the songs, but Gabe's not too psyched about the idea. "David tries to get me to do stuff like that all the time. He even jokingly offers to pay us to do it, but when I'm not comfortable doing something, he's cool with it," says Gabe. Despite this minor disagreement, David's vocal suggestions are usually right on target, including when he encouraged Gabe to do a falsetto number. "I've never done a falsetto in my life," Gabe admits. "So David brought out something new that I thought I never could even do and I did it."
