Lots of comic actors kept a straight face -- if not a murderous one -- in the police and legal drama. Janeane Garofalo was a known funnywoman before going through the "Law & Order" turnstile, but her appearance is noteworthy for sharing the screen with Lauren Graham in the same three-part episode. Before destiny took her to "Gilmore Girls" and "Parenthood" fame, Gilmore tried to tempt the strait-laced but once-strayed Catholic detective Rey Curtis. Aasif Mandvi also had a bit role in that same story arc and multiple others, playing characters from a peanut vendor to a judge. Rob McElhenney was a thrill-seeking teen killer (or was he?) years before he pitched the idea that would become the comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
