The Rise and Fall of Port Charles
December 15, 2006I loved Port Charles when it debuted and really WAS about doctors and nurses pursuing their careers. When PC debuted, it had a 2.7 rating. By 2000, the ratings had gone down to 2.2 but it was still an interesting show. Then, in Dec. 2000, PC took a turn down the worst possible road & became a bad horror show rip-off-wannabe. In spite of the fact that the vampires & other assorted ghouls & goblins produced DWINDLING ratings - TPTB refused to get the picture. By the time PC was axed in 2003, the ratings were 1.5 - PC had lost MORE THAN a MILLION viewers w/supernatural stories! But, to this day, even SOAP NET refuses to air the more interesting, HIGHER rated episodes from 1997-2000! Sincerely, IreneWas this review helpful to you? Sign in to rate -

Best thing ever created!
February 16, 2008This was the best show ever and always will be. It provides a wonderful escape. Despite what some believe the vampires and the supernatural are what saved the show from it being cancled the first time and when they first brought on the vampires more people watched. That was when I got hooked. The characters become like you're friends or you''re family members. The chemestry between couples is electric! Especially that of Caleb and Livvie. My favorite character is the comic vampire slayer Lucy Coe. If you can get a hold of these shows or these clips do so. Port Charles is the most amazing show ever and the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. Also, 1997 stuff good but start with the books or arcs esp. Tainted Love to get a good taste of what Port Charles is.Was this review helpful to you? Sign in to rate -
