Like being back in court again!
October 27, 2008
This suspenseful in- and out-of-court drama is just like being back in the business again! My husband and I both worked with people so much like those on the show, and, unfortunately, there were judges exactly like the ones portrayed. These last episodes have us sitting on the edge of our seats. I only wish there were another 12 inmmediately following. Please say it will be renewed! Far and away one of the more intelligent shows on the air.

Lawyer's opinion

As a criminal defense lawyer, I can say this show gets more realistic with each show. I can verify each character is almost exactly like the ones I work with and the problems are the same,...even the affairs.

Episode 2 will undoubtedly be 1 2 watch

Next Mon. can't come soon enough. It was great to see Gosselaar in action again. The cast seemed to compliment each other. I thought it was a powerful sight to see a public defender end up in jail, not for his client but for his own morals. I'll be hangin' in to see what's next.

Not too bad...
September 2, 2008
It's good to see Ryan in action again. The first episode was pretty good. The drama was there, the suspence, all the things that makes a good show a good show. No, it's nothing new...but there are far worse shows than this.
It will be interesting to see the out of court drama. It will be what seperates 'Raising the Bar' from other shows.

Falling well short of the bar
September 2, 2008
It's hard to describe just how bad the pilot was. The acting and story were the two critical failures. The lead actor was just plain awful. It was like watching a dramatic version of "Saved by the Bell" with completely over-the-top dramatic gestures. The story was even worse than the acting or caused them in the first place, I can't tell. All of the lawyers acted so unprofessionally and immaturely they should have been in middle school. The lead character's behavior was over the top passionate and stupid at the same time that he wouldn't serve any of his clients well. We have watched a lot of movies and TV together and given many shows the benefit of the doubt but not this one. The show literally made me and my wife feel sick and we turned it off half way through. The network should take some blame for this for seriously over hyping and advertising the show. This type of acting would be better off as a comedy, though not a good one.
