January 6, 2008
I have been watching stand up comedy for a couple of years now. It's like being there, but your in your home. I like Def Comedy Jam alot! I can't wait for Sunday night so i can see the next episode. My only con is that it's just not long enough.Overall this comedy is great. Thumbs up Russell Simmons'!

Material
December 12, 2006
I am a 57 year old secretary and grandmother. I watched the show because my 30 year old son thought I needed a laugh and he thinks the show is wonderful. Well I did find some material very funny. Some things I thought were degrading.
I wonder why so many truly talented artist feel they have to use profanity, or sexual material in order to capture the audience. I feel most of them are just funny and entertainig and it is my opinion that there is no need to always do work that is not suitable for every audience.
It is obvious there is a huge audience for this type of entertainment. I would like to see a little less graphic show.
Some of the material I heard made me wish I was "Def". Sorry, I know I can always choose not to view it, but it would be nice to have both sides.
Mr. Simmons I am sure a talented man such as yourself can think of a way. Don't forget where the idea came from.
Example: Why is it that if men are hairy it's sexy, and if a woman is hairy she is called a "wolly bully.
I told my friend I know how she could make he breast bigger....use toilet paper...well it worked on her butt.
I told my sister I know why I was loosing my hair.... It's all under my chin, since I got older.
I was so happy to see so many African American men and weomen who have so much talent.
I wonder how successful they would be if their material was clean and funny.
I have been told I have some great material. I would be very pleased to write material for this show, or maybe a different kind of show called "NOT Def Comedy Jam" A show fsuitable for all audiences.
Sincrely,
D. Thomas
