    "Humanize the program

    March 12, 2007
I am a frequent viewer of the program. The premise of the show is attractive but in the present form ineffective. You present the american housewives has whining, spoiled, competitive individuals who use all of their energy to be the "coolest mom" in the swap. I do not know or would want to know the kind of women you use on the show. They certainly do not depict any of the housewives I know. You rely on the same boring outline for each show. Each week the wives arrive at the opposing house and immediately begin a critical anaysis. The opposing house is always "too clean" or "too dirty" or it is "too orderly" or "too chaotic". We call this the 'three bears syndrome' - nothing is just right! How unrealistic it is when the swapping wives can find nothing good in their new surroundings. Your show could be a resource for struggling families to share ideas on how to make family-life effective. In stead you make these families into rediculous, competitive, ill-mannered people who I can find nothing less than contemptable. My advice is to take a cue from Supernanny. On the Supernanny people can find creative solutions to solving the usual family crisis. She offers sound advice while maintaining respect for the individuals involved. Until you make effective changes in your format I find Wife Swap to be the most harmful, and degrading show on television. mgtberkery@Yahoo.com

    works for most

This is a great life lesson on how to improve or "lighten up" once you live in another house with different rules. All appear to make some good changes once they return from their adventure living outside their comfort zone. Maybe we all should step back and re-think our own lives.

    October 1, 2007
I am Michele the single mom who appeared on the show. I and my girls have been doing great after the show. I myself had lost 120 pounds and been in college and jennifers getting her GED now going along into college after that and julie has a job and is going to pursue a goal in the veterinary field. My youngest Jodi is doing awesome in school. The show was fun but helped me furthermore to achieve my goals.

    I really enjoy this show!

    July 9, 2008
Initially, I just thought it was kinda crazy, but then after watching parts of a few episodes, I decided to watch them all the way through and think again.

Now that I realize that the families in this show are, evidently, chosen because of their differences (they're pretty much complete opposites), I see it in a different light. Oh, I still enjoy watching the turmoil that ensues when these mismatched families are mixed together, but I think it's good that each family literally has a chance to walk a mile in the shoes of someone with extremely opposing views and values. If only we could all have this experience...would it change us? Could we change the world? By opening our eyes and minds to how people with opposing viewpoints live, and the values they live by, I can't help but believe we'd all be better off.
