I just watched your piece on bullies n school.
Although it's extremely and current issue. I was disappointed in what I felt was another piling on of the public school system.
The example of singling out a charter school as being more on top or sensitive to the bulling issue implies that this is more prominent or accepted in public schools.
To be fair or unbiased you could have used a pubic school.
Charter schools are not the end all be all. They hand pick their students. The teachers are not credentialed. They don't have to teach to state standards. I could site more examples but no need.
There are good charter schools just as there are good and( a lot of them) public schools.
If this push for charter schools continues and succeeds you wind up with a have and have not system this will surely have a negative effect on the communities that embrace it.
A good read for any jumping on the charter school bandwagon is:
A Death of American Public Schools, by Diane Ravitch former advisor to the federal secretary of education.
