I love how "innerly" real the characters are. They break all the conventionallity and propriety codes, but some how do it with taste and delightful comic relief. Somehow, perhaps, they reach the depths of our human innerness, the parts we'd all like to show if it wasn't for all the rigid social customs we've learned to conform to. I love it that there's no excuses to their humanity and yet their real concern for each other is unmistakeable! Superb!
