Elementary

This is the first time I have seen Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes, but his turn on this character is excellent. The flaws of the original Holmes are all there, yet he is more willing to accept his faults, provided it does not interrupt the flow of his incestigation! Lucy Liu has always been a favorite actor of mine and her casting here is wonderful. Just enough of each character is revealed from episode to episode to keep you wanting to uncover more.
The twists and turns of the plot lines are sensible and hold your interest. Overall it is a wonderful addition to my viewing pleasure. It does have some things in parallel with Percerption , but each show can stand on its own quite well! I was always a fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles' original writings, having passed many an hour while in my off-duty time in the Navy reading and re-reading all the Novels and especially the shorter Adventures . Some years ago when the BBC restored Holmes via the characterizations of the late Jeremy Brett, my interest was re-invigorated. Happily to say it is now over the top! CBS has a real winner here to go with several other well written and played programs. The game here is indeed spot on!
