Set in inner-city New York in 1982, comedy focuses on a 13-year old boy who tries - and generally fails - to make it through his days without exasperating his mother, a woman with high expectations for her oldest child. Case in point: on the very day he's supposed to get home early to let his little brother & sister in the house, events conspire to make him just as late as possible.
