A few years ago, a friend of mind lent me the first novel of A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Game of Thrones. After finishing this most addicting story, I proceeded to read the other three novels in this series to date. Being that it was incredibly difficult for me to put them down, I ended up finishing all four books in less than two weeks. Few stories have ever gotten into my psyche as deeply as this one. Currently, I am rereading the series for the fourth time.
That being said, it should be obvious that I am a huge fan of George R.R. Martin's work. And upon watching this television series, I have to say that it is a most faithful adaptation. The casting of the characters is superb, the sets and scenery are wonderful, and so far, the show has remained true to the novels. I have zero complaints with how the producers are handling the story material (again, so far).
I've read a few of the reviews on here with regards to Ned Stark's death, and can understand the shock and dismay. So, as a warning to all who haven't read the novels, there are more shocks in store. Just keep watching, it's definitely worth it!
