Happy Endings

First seasons are typically a little "cheese" with a side of "awkward". But this FANTASTICAALY casted ensemble, and it is truly an ensemble cast, hit it out of the park it's first season!!!!!! The show's premise of a group of friends trying to remain together, intact and supportive after one (Alex) leaves another (Dave) at the alter is not all that inventive. The talent in this group is what makes it hilarious! Elisha Cuthbert (Alex) was probably the best known actress coming into the show as it started however she is by far not the standout as the talent is evenly divided: Casey Wilson, from SNL plays that quirky, gullable, 2 degrees off from cool friend we all have (one of the best physical comedic actresses since Debra Messing); Eliza Coupe (Jane), formally of Scrubs, plays the classic type A sister to Alex and wife to Brad (Damon Wayans Jr- need we say more- the apple does not fall far from the tree. His facial expressions alone get me going!); which leaves leaves their last, and in my opinion best found talent this season, Adam Pally, who plays Max: he is a guy's guy-a beer drinking-football watching-couch potato sitting gay man. Both he and Wayans have impecable timing but Pally just has an innate ability to deliver a line that only natural comedics do!!!!!! I have seen commercials for another show with Wayans in it and am praying it is just a dream because anything to mess with this equation would be a MESS!!!!
