The show is obviously phasing out Kono in favor of that blonde floozy who looks more like a waitress in a diner than a policewoman. When Kono's part diminishes much more, you have lost my wife and me as viewers. Kono gives the show real Island authenticity. The new person is just the usual low class nonentity, but maybe that is the audience they seek. Count us out.
Update 1/16/12: We are very glad to see that Kono's role has increased substantially. She continues to represent the soul of the island people as well as representing the best of the special police group. Thank you for bringing her back. It's much better now.
