When one finally becomes available in West Virginia, Kate and Dr. Jonas drive down to procure it, but they face racial tensions that delay the organ recovery. Another patient who had long been on the waiting list for a liver returns from Mexico having gotten a transplant through the black market. When the liver fails, she winds up in worse condition than before.
