The show has a good balance of characters. My favorite interaction is that between Betty White and Jane Leeves characters. I love their banter! It's a wonderful light comedy about 3 very close female friends and their acceptance of each other warts and all. I like seeing the development of Valerie Bertinelli's character exploring her new independence. Wendie Malick is great as the vain "all about me" friend always looking for that next curtain call. Jane Leeves is the cynical realist while grudgingly supporting her friends. Betty White's character could easily be set up to slip into the background but it won't happen with Ms. White at the helm. Slowly but surely, her character is blending with the 3 friends showing that generations can cross and blend. Just a great show. By the way, I rated this 5 stars but the site is flawed and only let me select 4 ... The show is better than this sites technology. :-)
