Kung Fu

About The Show

The exploits of Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin priest from China, as he wanders across the American frontier of the 1870s seeking an unknown brother. The series also relates aspects of Caine's strict training to become a priest, his attempts to help people he finds in trouble, and his efforts to stay one step ahead of bounty hunters who are seeking the large reward for his capture (as he's wanted by the Chinese Legation for killing a royal nephew during a ruckus that took the life of his favorite teacher, Master Po). He practices a certain Buddhist tolerance which leads him to take the peaceful path most of the time. Only when he's really pushed does he resort to violence in the form of Bruce Lee-style displays of the art of Kung Fu, when he invariably beats up four or five guys at once.
