Alex, an Israeli secret agent working undercover as a high school teacher in New York, compromises his safety when he falls in love with music student Thea. This passion leads to a long, one-sided courtship as he anonymously sends her love letters and gifts and courts her without being able to reveal his identity. He must eventually show his face, but at great risk. Eventually, he gives up his top-secret profession to be with her.
