The show makes me laugh - and made me laugh right from the start. The guy characters (especially Max's Schmidt!) are funny and getting funnier. Zooey is really bringing it too. Comedy is a big acting challenge and she's hilarious.
"The Wedding" and "Cece Crashes" are my favorite episodes so far. Watching the Schmidt character in the latter episode reminded me of seeing Seinfeld's Cramer come to life during the early episodes of that series. Special stuff.
The toothbrush scene at the end of "Cece Crashes" was just terrific. Jess and Nick, standing side by side, just brushing their teeth for the longest time with no words, each toothbrush moving at a different pace through toothpaste grins. A lot of character development in one quiet minute.
Really funny, and not your average sitcom.
