I see the confusion here...

Absolutism. Dichotomy. There is no reason that scientific and organized religion views need be exclusive of one another. "God" is energy, we're all energy (existing at different vibrational levels), so then, we are, in fact "made in His/Her image (like god IS a gender - gimme a break). The fellow that noted that we still know very little scientifically was correct: just because it cannot be explained in our minute lifetimes does not mean it has to be something mystical or spiritual or even God. But that doesn't mean that God doesn't exist.

Replicable scientific studies prove that prayer (even when the recipients do not know they are being prayed for) statistically improves the health of ill patients. The American Medical Society now accepts that accupunture (harnessing and redirecting one's chi -energy) is a useful tool in helping to ease/cure illnesses. You can claim the placebo effect, but that arguement could be used for a number of medications/treatments. Take from this what you may.

Those who believe religion is useless (I know - it's a great wealth building operation, but it keeps the masses in check AND gives a lot of decent folks hope and peace) are as closed minded as those who follow their faith blindly. Open your minds, people; realize that you can still believe in God AND evolution. God doesn't care if you join an organized religion. I hope my ideas on this subject continue to change and grow, as new information becomes available. Anyone not doing this is doing themselves a disservice. One small barb: Rabid organized religion followers - learn how to spell - it may give your posts a little more credence.
