Revenge

I just viewed the first two episodes, and must stay I was disappointed. I was willing give it a chance, and had planned to record the three episodes this evening. Most of the grasping, heavily neurotic, superficial characters are members of the American affluent (largely corrupt) population, and it would have been satisfying to see them pulled down a peg, perhaps even with a touch of social commentary, but hopefully with some solid plotting and superior acting.

Perhaps this would turn out to be more than a tinsel-embroidered bit of Dallas type pseudodrama, and soap opera fluff. Yet, I found it to be emotionally unsatisfying, thinly plotted, with essentially no character development. The show does have some fine cast members, and high-fallutin gloss. Does it work? Nope.

What a waste of good celluloid and air-time!! I wish I had done the usual, and watched The Good Wife. This show promises a lot, but ultimately is even worse than Grey's Anatomy, which would be better with more medicine, and less high drama and silly romantic complications. Incidentally, Last Resort (in ABC's 2012 Fall line-up) sounds like it'll provide a much better pay-off.
