This was a good show before the writers went on strike. It appears that the writers were fired, or from some reason they never came back to work.
Nowadays the talented actors improvise and do it ad-lib.
Sometimes they come up with something funny.

SNL has not been watchable for me since the Mike Myers/Dana Carvey days. In the beginning Lorne Micheals brainchild was an edgy, anti-establishment high brow/low brow marvel.
