About The Show

Comedy series centering on the activities of "Sports Night," a nightly program on the Continental Sports Channel where the frantic team of researchers, producers and talent not only have to report on up-to-the-minute sports news, but manage to turn hockey scores into witty banter. For co-anchors Casey McCall and Dan Rydell, this comes naturally, as the two are best friends on and off camera. A recent divorce has left Casey off balance and Dan wants to reintroduce Casey to its joys. Their producer Dana Whitaker cares about Casey's situation but needs him to focus on his job. She must answer to executive producer Isaac Jaffee, who's tough on his staff but defends them against the network brass. Associate producer Natalie Hurley is the youngest of the crew but is extremely competent. She encourages Dana to hire starstruck Jeremy Goodwin as an associate producer and research analyst.
